I cecchini sparano a 11 agenti di polizia a Dallas, uccidendone quattro.

Il Dallas Morning News ha riportato che i colpi sono stati sparati presso l'incrocio tra la strada del mercato e quella principale, che è vicino al John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza.

Snipers shoot 11 Dallas police officers during protest rally, killing four, police say

Update: Dallas police reported two suspects are in custody after snipers shot at least 11 police officers, killing 4, in a downtown area of the city where protests had been taking place. Neither has been named.
The first, whose picture was circulated on Twitter turned himself in, police said. The second was involved in a shoot-out with Dallas SWAT officers. He is also in custody. No injuries have been reported from the shoot-out.
A suspicious package was found near the second suspect, which is being secured by Dallas Police Department.

Update: Eleven Dallas police officers have now been confirmed shot, four of them fatally, by snipers. The shootings occurred during protests in downtown Dallas over the recent police shootings of black men in Baton Rouge and Minnesota.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown said in a press conference late Thursday night that there are at least two suspects at this time. At the time of the news conference, he said police had cornered one suspect in a parking garage and negotiations were underway.
He also said police believe the suspects may have planted a bomb in downtown Dallas. The FBI and ATF are on scene, canvassing the area.

Update: Two snipers shot ten Dallas police officers, killing three, according to a statement from Dallas Police Chief David Brown. Two of the officers are in surgery, and three are in critical condition. No officers have been identified, and no suspects are in custody.

Tonight it appears that two snipers shot ten police officers from elevated positions during the protest/rally. Three officers are deceased, two are in surgery and three are in critical condition. The Dallas Morning News reported the shots were fired at near the intersection of Market and Main streets, which is near the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza.
These shots came at around 9 p.m., local time just as a rally where hundreds gathered to protest the recent fatal police shootings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge and Philando Castile in Minnesota was ending, KXAS reported. The protesters were marching from the Belo Garden Park to the Old Red Courthouse. Video showed scenes of people fleeing through the streets as they heard shots.
It is unknown at this time if there is a connection between the shots and the protest.
A video that appears to capture audio of shooting appeared on YouTube and Twitter. In the video, what sounds like several bursts of gunfire can be heard.

“Everyone just started running,” protester Devante Odom told the newspaper. “We lost touch with two of our friends just trying to get out of there.”
Renee Sifflet, a mother of three teenagers who attended the rally and march, said she lost track of one of her children during the ensuing chaos.
“I brought them here for a positive experience, something they could say they were part of when they’re older, ” she said. “Then it turned negative.”

La scena era caotica quando i colpi sono scoppiati poco prima delle 21:00 con alcuni passanti che correvano ai ripari, mentre altri giravano video dell'azione do inviare on-line.
Un passante ha dichiarato all'Observer che avrebbe sentito "dai 50 ai 75 colpi", anche se le stime del numero di colpi varia selvaggiamente.

11 Dallas Police and DART Officers Wounded, 4 Fatally, at Rally to Protest Police Shootings

Update 11:25 p.m.:
Eleven officers from the Dallas Police Department and Dallas Area Rapid Transit were wounded, two three DPD and one DART officer fatally, DPD Chief David Brown said at a brief City Hall news conference.
At least two shooters from separate elevated positions above the demonstration site opened fire, Brown said.
One of the suspects is cornered in the El Centro College parking garage, and officers are attempting to negotiate his surrender now.
Brown released this photo of a man he described as "a person of interest" and asked anyone with information about the man to call 214-671-3482.
Update 11:15 p.m.:

Update 10:10 p.m.:
The scene was chaotic when the shots broke out shortly before 9 p.m. with some bystanders running for cover while others began to shoot videos of the action to post online.
A bystander told the Observer he heard "50 to 75 shots," though estimates of the number of shots varied wildly.
Earlier in the evening, several hundred people gathered peacefully to protest the fatal shooting by two police officer of Alton Sterling outside a Baton Rouge convenience store early Tuesday. A video of the shooting posted online showed Sterling being wrestled to the ground and shot in the chest repeatedly.
Wednesday evening, Philando Castile, 32, was shot dead during a traffic stop for a broken taillight in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota. His girlfriend broadcast his final moments live on Facebook.
Update 10:01 p.m.:
Jason Whitely of WFAA is reporting that one Dallas police officer and DART officer were wounded by the gunman.
A larg swath of downtown has been blocked off, and police have cleared the park as they confront the shooter. A police officer at the scene said the gunman was carrying a rifle and was in an alley across the street from Belo Garden.
Dallas police have cordoned Main Street and the area surrounding Belo Garden downtown following reports of multiple gunshots after a demonstration to protest recent police shootings of black men in Baton Rouge and Minnesota. Unconfirmed reports from bystanders say two police officers may have been wounded. At 9:40 p.m., police ordered reporters and bystanders to move back from the Main Street at Belo Garden because the shooter was seen moving in an alley, carrying a rifle.
Several witnesses posted videos of the scene during the shooting on Facebook.
