Fonti accertate informano che subito dopo l’incidente i ripetitori dei telefono di Lhasa erano spenti, funzionavano solo le linee fisse. Il luogo dell’immolazione è stato subito transennato ed è stato bloccato l’accesso alla zona del Tempio Jokhang, mentre pellegrini e turisti venivano perquisiti. I due giovani tibetani non erano monaci ma civili, il diciannovenne Tobgye o Dorjee Tseten veniva dal villaggio di Belong nella contea di Amdo Bora, mentre il suo amico il venticinquenne Dhargye veniva dal villaggio di Sorima, contea di Ngaba. La famiglia di Tseten racconta che partì per Lhasa dopo la scuola, per lavorare al caffè Nymi Ling come cuoco. Dhargye era il contabile nello stesso caffè. Prima del rogo i due si sono licenziati e hanno vissuto in albergo per pochi giorni. Il caffè è stato chiuso e tutti i lavoratori sono stati arrestati. Testimoni oculari raccontano che Tseten ha percorso alcuni passi prima di cadere morto. Nel pomeriggio a tutti i caffè di Lhasa è stato ordinato di romanere aperti e pattuglie passavano con le telecamere per verificare che l’ordine fosse eseguito. http://www.thetibetpost.com Two Men Resort To Self Immolation in Lhasa Dharamsala: In another set of self-immolations in Lhasa, two young Tibetan men set fire to themselves in front of the Tsuglagkang Temple, in the late afternoon of 27th May. 19 year old Dorjee Tseten (from Belong village in Amdo Bora) and Dhargye who was around 25 years old (from Sorima village in Ngapa County) set themselves on fire in a well-known market street, Pargor Street, around 3.00 pm. Tseten’s family consisted of his father, Pande Kar, his mother, Dolkar Kyi and two brothers; Tsendhu Gyatso and Kunchukg Tashi. He attended Bora village school during his childhood and then he went to Lhasa to work at Nyimi Ling café as a chef. Dhargye served as an accountant at the same café. Before the immolations, the both of them quit their jobs and lived at a hotel for a few days. It is reported that the café Nyimi Ling has been shut down and all the workers have been detained. Witnesses state that the pair shouted something unintelligible, not revealing their reasons for self-immolation. One source said that Tseten who set himself on fire walked a few steps before falling to the ground and everyone thought him to be dead. Immediately after hearing news of the immolations, the police and the army arrived on scene where they doused the flames and sent the two to the hospital where Tseten was declared dead. Police then went to his house and said that he was dead without divulging any other details. Right now, Dhargye is still admitted in the hospital and he reportedly able to speak Some witnesses also reported that, after the immolations, all the people present were made to remove all traces of the incident. In the afternoon, all the Tibetan shop owners and restaurants were ordered to keep business going as usual. The pilgrims' camera and mobiles were checked to see if there were any photos or videos of the self-immolations. Since then, control has been enforced on internet cafes and phone booths to monitor the news from spreading. The website china.org.cn quoted Hao Peng, secretary of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Tibet Committee saying, "They were a continuation of the self-immolations in other Tibetan areas and these acts were all aimed at separating Tibet from China". At 6.30 pm on 28th of May, the Regional Tibet Youth Congress (RTYC) held a candlelight vigil movement for the two men.
