Fin dal febbraio scorso l’attenzione internazionale si è focalizzata sugli eventi di grande importanza politica che si sono susseguiti in Cina. Nella notte del 6 febbraio, il vice sindaco di Chongqing ed ex capo della polizia Wang Liiun, si rifugiò nel Consolato statunitense di Chengdu e rivelò un piano del capo del partito di Chonqing, Bo Xilai e del capo della sicurezza locale Zhou Yongkang per attuare un colpo di stato. Poco più di un mese dopo, Bo Xilai fu rimosso dal suo ufficio. In seguito, i terribili crimini commessi durante la persecuzione di Falun Gong (una setta buddhista cinese), da parte di Zhou Yongkang e del Comitato per gli Affari Politici ed Amministrativi (CAPA) sotto la sua guida, iniziano ad affiorare. Allo stesso tempo, l’espansione senza precedenti del potere del CAPA e degli abusi extragiudiziali perpetrati con la sua autorità vengono ampiamente riconosciuti. La settimana scorsa, l’avvocato non vedente dei diritti umani Chen Guangcheng, fugge dagli arresti domiciliari nella provincia dello Shandong e si rifugia nell’Ambasciata Usa a Pechino. La situazione di Chen è un altro esempio delle operazioni oscure del CAPA ed aumenta l’attenzione del mondo sulla condizione dei diritti umani in Cina. Durante i 63 anni di governo della Cina, il PCC ha commesso un’infinità di crimini contro il popolo cinese. Nei cinquemila anni di storia cinese, non una sola dinastia o figura politica ha ucciso tanti cinesi co me il PCC ha fatto. In tempo di pace, il PCC ha perseguitato centinaia di milioni di cinesi, causando la morte di 80 milioni di cinesi per cause innaturali. Una cifra che supera le stime dei caduti durante le due guerre mondiali. Il danno causato dal Partito ai corpi, allo spirito e alla cultura dei cinesi non potrebbe essere più grave. I tredici anni di persecuzione di cento milioni di praticanti del Falun Gong è assolutamente orrendo, esasperante per il cielo e per l’umanità. I crimini che il PCC ha commesso contro i cinesi ha conseguenze gravissime, infatti il governo del Partito Comunista Cinese è giunto al collasso. La tempesta politica che ha scosso i vertici del PCC si fondava sul tentativo di evitare il biasimo per il male fatto. Il capo del partito Hu Jintao e il premier Wen Jiabao e anche il presunto numero due del partito Xi Jinping non vogliono essere biasimati per la persecuzione dei Falun Gong, iniziata nel 1999 dall’allora capo del partito Jiang Zemin. Jiang Zemin, Zhou Yongkang, Bo Xilai e altri non vogliono essere considerati responsabili per i crimini che hanno commesso nel tentativo di estirpare i buddhisti del Falun Gong. Ma erano pronti a fare un colpo di stato pur di mantenere saldamente il potere nelle loro mani. Ora il momento è passato. Oggi in Cina, a nessuno piace la persecuzione dei buddhisti del Falun Gong, non piace agli alti funzionari e nemmeno agli agricoltori. I buddhisti del Falun Gong hanno pazientemente educato i cinesi circa il male della persecuzione e il bene della loro pratica spirituale. Essi hanno trasformato la situazione in Cina. Oggi la storia ci offre una possibilità; continuare la persecuzione di milioni di innocenti praticanti del Falun Gong e l’oppressione di persone come Chen Guangcheng oppure portare i golpisti davanti alla giustizia e proteggere i diritti e il benessere dei cinesi. Il caso dell’avvocato per i diritti umani Gao Zhisheng, quello dell’attivista per la lotta all’AIDS Hu Jia, l’artista Ai Weiwei e molti altri, le cui storie sono conosciute nel mondo. Considerate i milioni e milioni di cinesi i cui nomi sono sconosciuti, attivisti, religiosi,pensatori indipendenti, agricoltori, proprietari di case, famiglie che desiderano un secondo figlio, e altri ancora che hanno sperimentato lo style criminale del regime e i metodi illegali del CAPA. Considerate quanto, milioni di innocenti buddhisti del Falun Gong, siano stati diffamati dalla propaganda di regime fatta per creare pubblici malintesi e fomentare l’odio, come con la menzogna delle auto-immolazioni in piazza Tianamen. Considerate anche come i praticanti del Falun Gong siano stati torturati, obbligati a disconoscere il loro credo, e assoggettati alla donazione forzata dei loro organi, un’atrocità che non si era mai sentita. Gli errori giudiziari sono dovunque e la società cinese è stata trasformata in una gigantesca prigione nera. Il Verdetto della Storia Chiunque al vertice del PCC voglia disintegrare questa prigione nera, restituire la libertà ai cinesi e risarcire le ingiustizie, farà la cosa giusta. Coloro che vogliono mantenere la prigione nera e anche peggio, perpetrando nuovi abusi, sono gli acerrimi nemici del popolo cinese. Nella Cina antica vigeva una semplice regola: le buone azioni vengono premiate con il bene, azioni malvagie ricevono il male in cambio. In realtà questo principio guida la storia. La qualità della nostra morale, la nostra gentilezza e la nostra giustizia determinano il nostro destino. Trascinare di fronte alla giustizia i golpisti responsabili delle persecuzioni del Falun Gong è un atto di coscienza e di coraggio che crea un nuovo futuro per la Cina. Un tale atto otterrà il sostegno dei cinesi e si guadagnerà la loro fiducia. Tutti in Cina, a partire da Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao e Xi Jinping fino al comune cittadino, hanno oggi l’opportunità di scegliere da che parte stare. Un individuo può scegliere di schierarsi con la giustizia e la moralità oppure con l’oppressione e le tenebre. In questo momento cruciale della storia, questa scelta determinerà il destino di ogni individuo. I cinesi hanno atteso troppo a lungo e il verdetto della storia è pronto per essere consegnato. Since February, international attention has focused on one momentous political event after another in China. On the night of Feb. 6, Chongqing Deputy Mayor and former Chief of Police Wang Lijun escaped to the U.S Consulate in Chengdu and revealed a plan by Chongqing Party chief Bo Xilai and domestic security czar Zhou Yongkang to launch a coup. A little more than a month later, Bo Xilai was removed from office. Next, the terrible crimes committed during the persecution of Falun Gong by Zhou Yongkang and the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee (PLAC) he heads started to surface. At the same time, the unprecedented expansion of the PLAC’s power and its extrajudicial abuse of authority became widely recognized. Last week, the blind human rights lawyer Chen Guangcheng escaped house arrest in Shandong Province and fled to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. Chen’s plight was yet another example of the dark operations of the PLAC and concentrated the world’s attention even more closely on human rights conditions in China. Not Simply Infighting Media reports have often described this series of events as instances of infighting among the high-level officials in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), but the story is not that simple. During the CCP’s 63-year-long rule of China, it has committed countless crimes against the Chinese people. In China’s five thousand year history, no single dynasty or political figure has killed as many Chinese citizens as the CCP has. In a time of peace, the CCP has persecuted hundreds of millions of Chinese, causing 80 million Chinese to die from unnatural causes. This is more than is estimated to have died in World Wars One and Two combined. The damage the CCP has caused to the Chinese people’s bodies, spirit, and culture could not be graver. The 13-year-long persecution of 100 million Falun Gong practitioners is absolutely horrendous, infuriating both heaven and humankind. The crimes the CCP has committed against the Chinese people have consequences, and the CCP’s rule is ready to collapse. Now, right-minded people need to make a moral decision concerning the future of China. Decision Point The political storm that has shaken the topmost reaches of the CCP has been about the attempt to avoid blame for evil. The CCP head Hu Jintao, the Premier Wen Jiabao, and the presumptive next head of the CCP Xi Jinping do not want to be blamed for the persecution of Falun Gong, which was started in 1999 by former CCP head Jiang Zemin. Jiang Zemin, Zhou Yongkang, Bo Xilai, and others want to avoid being held accountable for the crimes they have committed in trying to “eradicate” Falun Gong. They were willing to go so far as to plot a coup in order to keep power firmly in their hands. But their moment has passed. Everyone in Chinese society, from high-ranking officials to common farmers, dislikes the persecution of Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners have patiently educated the people of China about the evil of the persecution and the goodness of their spiritual practice. The practitioners have transformed the situation in China. Today history presents us a choice … Today history presents us a choice: whether to continue the persecution of millions of innocent Falun Gong practitioners and the oppression of people like Chen Guangcheng or to bring the culprits to justice and protect the basic rights and well-being of the people. What has been called a power struggle is actually a battle between good and evil and a decision about choosing morality and justice or the reverse. Black Prison Bringing the persecutors to justice will win people’s hearts. When viewing the video footage on YouTube of Chen Guangcheng, the world has been infuriated with his tragic plight and with the desecration of the Chinese people’s human rights. In China there are countless people who have experiences just as heart rending as Chen Guangcheng’s. Consider the cases of the human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng, the AIDs activist Hu Jia, the artist Ai Weiwei, and others whose names and stories are known around the world. Consider the millions and millions whose names are not known: petitioners, religious people, independent thinkers, farmers, home owners, families wanting to have a second child, and others who have personally experienced the regime’s gangster-style methods and the lawlessness of the PLAC. Consider how millions of innocent Falun Gong practitioners have been vilified by the regime’s propaganda and made to bear the public’s misunderstanding due to a hoax like the Tiananmen Square self-immolations. Consider also how the practitioners are tortured, forced to deny their beliefs, and subjected to forced, live organ harvesting—an atrocity that had never taken place before in the whole history of this earth. The miscarriages of justice are everywhere and Chinese society has been turned into a giant, black prison. History’s Verdict Any one at the top-level of the CCP who wants to disintegrate this black prison, return freedom to the people, and redress grievances, is doing the right thing. Those who want to maintain the black prison and even worse, pile on more abuses, are the arch enemies of the Chinese people. In ancient China a simple rule was accepted: good deeds are rewarded with good; evil deeds receive evil in return. In fact, this principle guides history. The height of our morality—our kindness and our righteousness—determines our futures. Bringing to justice the culprits behind the persecution of Falun Gong is an act of conscience and courage that creates a new future for China. Such acts will be supported by the people and gain the trust of the people. Everyone in China, from Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao, and Xi Jinping to the common citizens, has the opportunity to choose on which side to stand. An individual can choose to stand on the side of justice and morality or to stand with oppression and darkness. At this crucial moment in history, this choice will determine each individual’s destiny. The people have waited too long, and history’s verdict is ready to be delivered. Huge changes are almost upon us. This moment goes beyond the boundaries of politics and revolutions. It is a moment of fundamental choice. Individuals in the free world cannot stand by as idle witnesses. They too must make a choice. They too must stand with or against the Chinese people, with or against morality, with or against freedom, and with or against the future.
