Inviato serbo respinge sia la NATO che le sanzioni dell'Unione Europea contro la Russia
La Serbia non ha alcun interesse ad aderire alla NATO o a firmare le sanzioni dell'Unione Europea contro la Russia, nonostante le ambizioni del governo di aderire all'UE, l'ambasciatore della Serbia a Mosca lo ha detto venerdì 12 febbraio. "Per quanto riguarda la domanda di adesione alla NATO ... la Serbia ha proclamato la neutralità militare e politica, e finora nessuno ha cambiato questo approccio. La Serbia non si sta preparando ad entrare nella NATO" lo ha detto l’Ambasciatore Slavenko Terzic ai giornalisti a Mosca, aggiungendo, "noi non ci uniremo alle sanzioni contro la Federazione russa, ne ora ne mai." Il Vicino Kosovo, che la Serbia rivendica ancora come suo territorio, è alla ricerca dell’adesione all'UE e anche l'attuale governo in Serbia aspira a far parte dell'UE. Il piccolo stato balcanico del Montenegro ha recentemente creato scalpore accolgiendo un invito ad aderire alla NATO. Ma Terzic ha detto che la Serbia manterrà i suoi legami con Mosca, un alleato di lunga data, e intende aderire presto all’Unione economica eurasiatica della Russia. Egli ha anche detto che il presidente serbo Tomislav Nikolic si recherà in visita a Mosca il 9 marzo e spera di incontrare il presidente russo Vladimir Putin in quel momento.

Serbian Envoy Rejects NATO Or Endorsing EU Sanctions Against Russia
Serbia has no interest in joining NATO or endorsing European Union sanctions against Russia, despite the government's ambitions of joining the EU, Serbia's ambassador to Moscow said on February 12. "As for the question of accession to NATO...Serbia has proclaimed military and political neutrality, and so far no one has changed this approach. Serbia is not preparing to join NATO," Ambassador Slavenko Terzic told reporters in Moscow, adding, "We will not join sanctions against the Russian Federation, and never will." Neighboring Kosovo, which Serbia still claims as a territory, is seeking EU membership and the current government in Serbia also aspires to join the EU. The tiny Balkan state of Montenegro recently created a stir by entertaining an invitation to join NATO. But Terzic said Serbia will maintain its ties with Moscow, a longtime ally, and intends to soon join Russia's Eurasian Economic Union.
