Appello apparso anche sul New York Times Oltre 300 scampati e discendenti dei sopravvissuti alla Shoah condannano l’aggressione di Israele e chiedono il boicottaggio Alcuni di loro sono sopravvissuti alla ‘soluzione finale’ nazista durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, molti altri sono parenti di sopravvissuti o di chi, invece, non ce l’ha fatta. Sta rimbalzando sui media internazionali come un cazzotto nello stomaco di Israele e della sua strumentale propaganda quella secondo cui Israele sarebbe l’anima, il rifugio e il futuro di tutti gli ebrei sparsi nel pianeta un appello firmato ormai da più di trecento persone che condanna senza mezzi termini quello che giustamente definisce “il massacro di palestinesi a Gaza” e che chiede un boicottaggio totale di Israele. La durissima presa di posizione era già circolata nei giorni scorsi con le prime decine di firme, ma ora gli ebrei scampati all’Olocausto e i loro parenti che hanno aderito all’appello sono diventati circa 330 e sabato il documento è stato pubblicato sul quotidiano statunitense ‘New York Times’. "Come ebrei sopravvissuti e discendenti delle vittime del genocidio nazista, condanniamo senza riserve il massacro di palestinesi a Gaza e l’occupazione e la colonizzazione dei territori storici palestinesi” recita la lettera che costituisce uno dei più duri atti d’accusa contro la classe politica israeliana degli ultimi anni. Una presa di posizione stimolata da un intervento di tutt’altro segno di Elie Wiesel, scrittore ebreo ungherese, premio Nobel e sopravvissuto ai campi di concentramento e che fu pubblicato dal britannico Guardian, nel quale si accusava Hamas di ‘sacrificare i bambini’ e si accostava la resistenza palestinese ai nazisti. “Siamo indignati e disgustati dall’abuso della nostra storia da parte di Elie Wiesel, che ha cercato di giustificare ciò che non è giustificabile: i tentativi israeliani di distruggere Gaza e l’assassinio di più di 2000 palestinesi, compresi centinaia di bambini. Nulla può giustificare i bombardamenti dei rifugi dell’Onu, delle case, degli ospedali e delle università. Nulla può giustificare il taglio dell’acqua e dell’elettricità” recita il testo pubblicato dal NYT in risposta allo scrittore ebreo ungherese. “Siamo preoccupati dalla de-umanizzazione dei palestinesi nella società israeliana, che ha raggiunto ormai livelli estremi. In Israele i politici e gli opinionisti nei media hanno realizzato commenti favorevoli al genocidio in corso. Inoltre gli israeliani di estrema destra stanno adottando simboli nazisti” denuncia ancora la lettera che condanna esplicitamente anche gli Stati Uniti e i paesi occidentali per il loro sostegno a Tel Aviv e alla sua politica genocida. “Condanniamo inoltre gli Stati Uniti per il loro finanziamento di Israele affinché possa continuare a condurre gli attacchi e i paesi occidentali in generale che usano la diplomazia per proteggere Israele. Il genocidio inizia dal silenzio del mondo” accusano i 327 ebrei firmatari del documento che si conclude con un appello all’immediato cessate il fuoco a Gaza e chiede il “boicottaggio economico, culturale e accademico di Israele”.
