Lettera del presidente deposto Morsi al popolo egiziano

Di seguito è riportato il testo tradotto di una lettera del deposto presidente Morsi, contrabbandata fuori di prigione.

Grande popolo d'Egitto!

Mi congratulo con voi in occasione del nuovo anno dell'Egira, mentre il paese è ancora al culmine della sua rivoluzione e i giovani sono al culmine della loro determinazione ad attuare la loro volontà. Mi congratulo ed esprimo soddisfazione per la continuazione della vostra rivoluzione contro il colpo di stato paralizzante e i suoi leader che cercano di sottomettere il paese per i loro capricci. Eppure, non potranno mai avere successo. Vivono nella paura di un destino nero che li attende come una punizione per i crimini che hanno perpetrato contro questa grande nazione.

Colgo l'occasione per annunciare che ho rifiutato, e continuerò a respingere, tutti i tentativi di negoziare un compromesso a discapito della rivoluzione e del sangue dei martiri. Si tratta di tentativi che mirano a consentire ai criminali di continuare a godere della riduzione in schiavitù di un popolo di cui non meritano di far parte. Vorrei anche ribadire le mie istruzioni a tutti i rivoluzionari attivi nel settore, comprese le loro leadership, i loro consigli, le loro coalizioni, i loro simboli, i loro pensatori e gli studenti: "non ci dovrebbe essere il riconoscimento del colpo di stato, non ci dovrebbe essere una ritirata dalla rivoluzione e non ci dovrebbe essere un negoziato a spese del sangue dei martiri".

Felice anno nuovo, e che il prossimo anno arrivi mentre siete ancora rivoluzionari e liberi.

Quanto a me, io sono assolutamente fiducioso, per grazia di Dio, che Dio provvederà la nostra rivoluzione con una vittoria. La mia fiducia nella vostra incandescente e incrollabile forza di volontà è per me un’enorme forza. Per volontà di Dio, non uscirò dalla mia prigione prima che tutti i miei figli detenuti vengano liberati e prima che tutte le mie figlie detenute siano tornate nelle loro case. La mia vita non mi è più cara della vita dei nobili martiri della rivoluzione. Io traggo la mia forza di volontà dai giovani, innovativi in tutte le piazze della rivoluzione e nelle università. Io non dimenticherò mai i miei figli, martiri dell'esercito che sono stati proditoriamente presi di mira dopo il colpo di stato che ha trasformato il paese in un mare di ferite. Io so che la rivoluzione è il rimedio per queste ferite e che la giustizia alla fine prevarrà.

Quindi, porto la buona novella che continui la rivoluzione. Dio sosterrà la verità e non vi deluderà. Se Dio vuole, ci incontreremo presto per festeggiare il successo della rivoluzione.

Letter from deposed President Morsi to the Egyptian people

Below is the translated text of a letter from the deposed President Morsi, smuggled out of prison.

Great People of Egypt!

I congratulate you on the occasion of the New Hijrah year while the country is still at the zenith of its revolution and the youth are at the peak of their determination to implement their will. I congratulate you and express delight at the continuation of your revolution against the paralysed coup and its leaders who seek to subjugate the country to their whims. Yet, they will never succeed. They live in fear of a black fate awaiting them as a punishment for what they have perpetrated of crimes against this great nation.

I seize this opportunity to announce that I have turned down, and continue to reject, all the attempts to negotiate a compromise at the expense of the revolution and the blood of the martyrs. These are attempts that are aimed at enabling the criminals to continue enjoying the enslavement of a people they never deserved to be part of. I would also like to reiterate my instructions to all active revolutionaries in the field, including their leaderships, their councils, their coalitions, their symbols, their thinkers and their students: "there should be no recognition of the coup, there should be no retreat from the revolution and there should be no negotiation at the expense of the blood of the martyrs."

Happy new year, and may the next year arrive while you are still revolutionaries and are free.

As for me, I am absolutely confident, by the Grace of God, that God will provide our revolution with victory. My trust in your glowing willpower and enormous strength is unwavering. By the will of God I shall not depart my prison before all my detained sons are freed and before all my detained daughters are back in their homes. My life is not dearer than the lives of the noble martyrs of the revolution. I derive my willpower from that of the innovative youth in all revolution squares and universities. I have not, shall not and shall never forget my sons the martyrs of the army who have been treacherously targeted after the coup turned the country into seas of wounds. I know that the revolution is the remedy for these wounds and that justice will eventually prevail.

So, bear the glad tidings and continue your revolution. God will support the truth and will not let you down. God willing, we shall meet soon to celebrate the success of the revolution.
