Altri Tibetani sfidano l'ordine di esporre la bandiera cinese

I residenti di altre due contee tibetane si rifiutano di esporre la bandiera nazionale cinese dalle loro case, mentre le autorità continuano a portare avanti una campagna di esposizione forzata di lealtà verso lo stato cinese. I più recenti atti di sfida sono stati riportati nella contea di Kardze e nella contea di Dzatoe. questa settimana a Kardze, i funzionari della borgata Dongkhor hanno chiamato incontri nei villaggi della zona per sollecitare i residenti locali ad esporre la bandiera. Tuttavia, i tibetani che frequentano le riunioni contestato fortemente l'idea, sostenendo che le case tibetane della zona non avevano mai esposto la bandiera. Gli ufficiali cinesi hanno replicato dicendo che le persone in altre zone avevano già concordato di esporre la bandiera, aggiungendo che il rispetto in quei luoghi aveva provocato una generosa assistenza del governo.

In passato, le autorità cinesi hanno ordinato solo ai tibetani coinvolti nelle proteste contro il governo di esporre la bandiera dalle loro case, ma ora la gente del posto è preoccupata che ognuno possa essere costretto a farlo.

Alle famiglie dei dipendenti del governo e dei destinatari di assistenza pubblica è stato detto di prendere l'iniziativa di esporre la bandiera. Malgrado tutto, non una sola casa batte bandiera cinese.

Il 15 ottobre, i residenti nella contea di Chentsa hanno rifiutato le richieste di issare la bandiera cinese, mettendo in evidenza la crescente resistenza agli ordini forzati di fedeltà allo Stato cinese e al Partito comunista cinese al potere.

La mossa segue settimane di proteste nella contea di Driru all'inizio del mese, in cui gli abitanti dei villaggi si rifiutarono di esporre le bandiere cinesi dalle loro case, gettandole invece in un fiume e causando un aggravamento mortale della sicurezza.

More Tibetans defy orders to fly chinese flag

Residents of two more Tibetan counties are refusing orders to fly China’s national flag from their homes, as authorities continue to press a campaign of forced displays of loyalty to the Chinese state.The latest acts of defiance were reported in Kardze county and in Dzatoe county.This week in Kardze county, officials in Dongkhor township called meetings in area villages to urge local residents to fly the flag.However, Tibetans attending the meetings strongly objected to the idea, arguing that Tibetan houses in the area had never flown Chinese flags.Officials countered by saying that people in other areas had already agreed to fly the flag, adding that compliance in those places had resulted in “generous government assistance.”

Meanwhile, in Dzatoe county, an area hit by protests against Chinese mining operations, officials have also issued orders to Tibetan homes and monasteries to fly the Chinese flag.

In the past, the Chinese authorities have only ordered Tibetans involved in protests against the government to fly the flags from their homes, but now the local people are worried that everyone may be forced to do so.

The families of government employees and recipients of government assistance have been told to take the lead in flying the flags.So far, not a single house is flying the Chinese flag on their house.

On Oct. 15, residents in Chentsa county refused demands to hoist the Chinese flag, highlighting the growing resistance to forced displays of loyalty to the Chinese state and the ruling Chinese Communist Party.

The move followed weeks of protests in Driru county earlier in the month in which villagers refused to fly Chinese flags from their homes, throwing them instead into a river and prompting a deadly security crackdown.
