In the letter, officers in the air force, navy and ground forces pledge to “fulfill any order we receive and execute any mission we are assigned by the military and political echelons.” The letter explicitly mentions the petition to pilots, condemning “any call to refuse orders.” “The very fact of our reporting for service expresses our trust in the [military and political] establishment,” the authors write, “but in these days we feel the need to stress that which usually goes without saying.”
