"The settlers tried to break into the mosque, but it was locked," Orif resident Issam al-Safadi told Reuters. "So they settled with burning the old carpet and the door." In a separate attack in Ramallah, locals told Ma'an that a loud explosion woke them up at 3 am where they discovered a car had been set on fire. Residents tried to extinguish the blaze and found "price tag" slogans painted on the house where the car was parked. Israeli rights group B'tselem says vigilante settler groups are suspected of vandalizing at least 10 mosques in the Israeli-occupied West Bank since 2009. The mosque vandalism occurred on the sixth day of Israel's assault on Gaza. Demonstrations have been taking place across the West Bank in solidarity with Gaza.
